Borderlands 2 Golden Key/Chest and Shift Codes?
Does anyone else feel that the constant release of SHiFT codes depletes the entire purpose of them and the golden keys and the golden chest? The entire point of the golden key is to open the golden chest, which supplies you with a rare item - But the very act of so many golden keys as a result of so many SHiFt codes allows for a multitude of rare weapons, thus making them not so rare.
In-case the question wasn't clear enough for you, I'll make it more succinct: Does the plethora of SHiFT codes seem to make blue/purple rarity weapons less special for you, since you can acquire them so easily?

So, whats your question?
EDIT: Sorry, I actually didn't understand what you were asking before but yes, for me it does. I'd much rather get them weapons from a challenge or beating missions or something like that. Too many shift codes gives way too many changes to get a really good weapon.

Not really.
Because the most they give are purple rarity.
And Orange (Legendary) greatly exceed purple's power.
The game offers these as a way to keep your weapons leveled with you (in case you go a long time with old weapons that start to do poor)
Plus, not everyone got the game at launch, so it'd be a shame if someone just bought the game, only to find out that there is no way for them to get keys
And makes farming for the REAL prize (Legendaries) a lot easier.
