Are you old enough to remember dial-up internet?

Ah, I remember firing up Windows 98, trying to connect to the Internet using AOL. I loved the weird, demon-like sounds the modem used to make. And then the connection would fail like 75% of the time, and when I finally got on, my mom would have to make an 'extremely important' phone call, and I had to get off.

Good times. :)

I remember being like 7 and loving to play Poptropica. It took an hour just for the game to load. (Not kidding) it was not fun. But at the time I thought it was the only type of internet there was, I would either go on paint, play minesweeper, or attempt to go onto Poptropica. I might try to play that some time...it's a fun game lol. I was 7 in like 2006 so I'm sure there was high sped internet back then?

Having been born in 1953, I bear in mind plenty of things earlier than the internet even existed. We had a black and white television unless the late 60's. The primary show I ever noticed in color used to be The Ponderosa. Occasions have been sure exceptional, and no longer in a foul manner. I believe the entire electronics are making kids fail to notice way more fundamental things.

I remember doing the exact same thing.... I would be on the internet and my mom wouldn't know it and she would pick up the phone to make a call and it would have that loud dial up sound... I remember her cursing me out lol jk

I used dial up from 1998 to 2009. Then when broadband was low enough I subscribed to it.

I used dial-up all the way up to 2007. It just wasn't available until then, and it was decent timing because watching YouTube on it was painful (and this was when 240p was standard).
