Why are leaf fans so arrogant?
I mean I understand the bitter rivalry and everything but they haven't made the playoffs in what like 10years? And their last cup is in 67, before my parents were born! Sure they beat us tonight but we have been beating them for the past century and beyond. Carey Price had an off-night and leaf fans think that they can sweep us in a 7games series because of some regulation games, not only that. The team itself is quite disrespectful. I like Orr for high toughness, same thing with Mclaren. Kadri is an amazing player and Dion is a tough guy. But Orr taking a run at Plekanec when it was 6-0 was just utterly useless, Mclaren laughing while fighting Gorges(atleast he went easy on him), Kadri taking a run on Gallagher then refused to fight all 5'8 of him, and Carlyle putting on his first PP unit when it was 6-0. Komarav not wanting to fight Subban, yes, 3rd liner won't fight a Norris Trophy candidate, I would do it just to get PK in the box for 5min...
And the best for last, Phaneuf taking runs at Gallagher , Desharnais, Prust , Subban multiple times. Slashing Prust, but won't fight him. Then wants to fight Subban. This was mostly a rant, I'm quite angry at the Leafs fan-base for not respecting the habs fan base, EVEN when the game is all said and done. I'm losing respect every time we face the leafs, but I will say that the leafs have significantly improve their club this past season, Orr and Mclaren are two of the toughest players in the east, and Kadri is an outstanding player. This is a rivalry but I think fanbases should respect each other outside the game, and I am aware that habs fans are also @ssh0les. What do you think?

I get that you're venting...... but still.
Why are they taking runs at players with that score? Because there's fewer than 10 games to playoffs and these two teams could be facing off.
If you think that's bad or disrespectful, you should remember the Pens last year did the same thing to the Flyers...... and who got the last laugh?

From the top.
So your parents were born after 1967. Probably high on drugs when you were conceived so that probably explains your lack of reasoning ability.
If one were to go back over the last couple or four years one would find that the Canadiens and the Leafs have played pretty much even up head to head over that period. Orr didn't take a run at Plekanec, he body checked him. Plekanec is a sneaky player he uses his stick much more than is necessary to slash and spear. Orr was just finishing his check. MacLaren likes to play hockey he has fun on the ice. If Montreal doesn't want MacLaren to beat up their enforcer get a bigger enforcer or don't attempt to fight. Kadri didn't take a run at Gallagher, again it is called finishing your check. If Gallagher doesn't want to get hit tell him to keep his mouth shut and not chirp at the bench.
How short your memory is, last Thursday in Buffalo the score was 4-1 for Montreal, Buffalo takes a penalty. Montreal puts out its number one power play. Even though they had been out-shooting Buffalo 40 - 15. Last night Montreal had been out-shooting the Leafs so when the opportunity occurred Carlyle thought if it was okay in Buffalo with four minutes left in the game it should be okay in Toronto with seven minutes left.
Best (?) for last. Why should Phaneuf fight Prust. Phaneuf is the captain of the Leafs team. He is their number one defenseman why should he take himself out of the game for a 13 minute a game fourth liner. Subban or Markov should be the only guys he should fight. He fought too many wasted fights early in his career. I am glad to see he has matured.

First of all a team that last won a cup 2+ decades ago has no right pointing at any other team, just to get that out of the way. Leafs seem to be a team just starting to wake up from a decade of dormancy, that's why, the Leafs are sitting 5th in the east and 7th in the entire league, add in the winter classic there's just a great buzz in the city, its a good time to be a Leafs fan. The most loyal fan base in the league deserves it also.

When you come from the Centre of the Universe you have the right to be arrogant.

We haven't been in the playoffs for ever, and we haven't won a cup for 45 freaking years. WHY THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE SO ARROGANT???

Because they win championships all the time... Oh wait.
In all honesty from what I have observed, Canadiens fans are far more arrogant than Leafs fans.

Leafs fans have every right to gloat, and with a team that's tough and legit we actually have something to brag about. You need thicker skin, Leafs fans have been putting up with the crap for decades and we could care less. Trash talk is part of sports.
