Why doesn't my car turn on? Please help?

I drive a 1999 honda accord v6. It has 230k miles. However, it was my dads and they bought it brand new and have always took really good care of it. I just got my license 6 months ago and they gave me the car, so I hardly have that much time with it. I don't know much about cars, but my dad always checks it for me. It runs super great and always turns on right away and never had a problem.

Just last night I went out to the mall with my cousins and got home at 11:30pm. Everything was fine. This morning at 8am when I was getting ready to leave to class, my car simply wouldn't turn on. This is the first time it's ever happened to me or anybody. When I turn the key it just keeps clicking but doesn't turn on. My uncle gave me a jump start and that didnt work. He told me it needs a new starter. The lights work fine and the radio too. What could be the problem? The battery number reads 13.8.

I don't want to tell my dad, so I will be going to the mechanic by myself. Thanks for help

Hondas have whats called a "Fusible Link" . . . piece of metal that goes from battery terminal to starter wire ... they burn out ... replace it .. piece of copper wire will work till ya get one.

If all other electrical is working well ... look to the link first, then the starter ....

    good luck
