  • Can i get a fee waiver and financial aid from 2 different schools?

    Okay so I was accepted to UCSD for Fall 2014. I am transferring from a community college. I am very happy about that. However, I have a question. I understand that I can only receive financial aid from 1 school, but is BOGFW (Board of governor's fee wiaver) considered financial aid? I am 100% sure I will be transferring, but I also want to simultaneously attend my community college since I have some prerequisites I need to complete for dental school. My community college offers it on Saturday which is when I want to take it. ANYWAYS, when I did my financial aid in January, I also sent it to the community college since I was unsure I was going to get accepted. I already received my financial award letter from UCSD and they will be the ones giving me my pell grants etc. My community college will not be giving me any pell grants even if I wanted to since I already have over 90 units so I am disqualified from receiving financial aid. However, they will be granting me the fee waiver since my parents are low income. So my question is:

    Is it okay/legal to receive fee waiver (BOGFW) from my community college and at the same time receive pell grants from my university? I will be attending both, but full time at my university and only 1 class at my CC.

  • What is the hardest statistics topics that students have most trouble with?

    I am in college and enrolled in statistics for the summer session. I have 3 weeks before classes start, and I want to be able to have some knowledge of stats or even go over the harder concepts, that way I can be familiar with them when I start class and they won't be so hard anymore. Thanks

  • What kind of geometry/math topics would I need to succeed in trigonometry?

    Okay so it's been a really long time since I've taken geometry. Maybe like 3 years while I was in high school. I signed up for trig next semester. I am in college. I am excellent at algebra and was really good at geometry too, it's just I've forgotten it since its been a while. With a review ill refresh and it will come back to me.

    My question is: what kind of topics should I review over the summer to be able to succeed and get an A in trig?

  • My car is burning power steering fluid. Can I still drive for today?

    Okay so my car is a honda accord 1999. It has always worked perfectly. I don't know anything about cars, but my dad does. Just yesterday, I noticed steam coming out of the hood. My car is marking cold so it's not the engine heating up, but rather, it is leaking power steering fluid and therefore it's steaming when it touches the engine. My girlfriend is having her graduation party from college today. We have planned this over 6 months ago, and she lives 1 hour away from me ( I live in Los Angeles). Is my car safe to drive just for today? I will be taking it to the mechanic first thing in the morning, but I can't miss today. Will I be safe? I have power steering fluid so I could always put some before and after I leave (once my car cooled down of course)

  • How do I tell an employer I only want to work a limited amount of hours due to my demanding major in college?

    My dad has been telling me he wants me to learn some responsibility and want me to work. He will only be charging me $100 dollars, so it's not even alot. So I've been applying for a job and got some interviews at places like Starbucks and the movie theatre. My question is: when or how do I tell my boss I only want to work 10-15 hours max? I really want the job, but I don't want to turn him off or lure him away when he sees I only want a limited amount of hours. Thanks. I'm an engineering major so it's pretty time consuming!

  • Why did my car release steam yet the radar is marking the car as cold?

    Okay so my car has been perfectly running. I have a 1999 honda accord. Last week, my car needed power steering fluid, so I refilled my car with it. This morning, I noticed that when I turned the steering wheel a cracking noise occurred. It was the same noise as last week when my car needed that power steering fluid. When I arrived home from work, I noticed that some steam was coming out of the car. I was too afraid to open the hood, but I noticed it coming out from the exact area where I put that fluid. The car temperature radar marked my car as cold, so It was clear it wasn't the engine. 5 hours later, I pop'd open the hood and noticed the power steefing fluid was empty again. It's obviously leaking because I just put some 7 days ago. What happened to my car or what caused that steam? It barely occurred today. I already filled the car with steering fluid again and thankfully no more steam

  • How do I tell my boss I only want to work a limited amount of hours? (I'm in college)?

    Okay so I just graduated from community college and will now be attending a 4 year university in the fall. It's really close to my house, about 15 minutes driving. My dad let me live for free these past 2 years, but he made a deal with me a while back that ill have to cooperate financially after transferring. I totally forgot and begged him not to charge me but he said I need to learn responsibility. Even though I get straight A's, he's not satisfied and wants me to experience paying for myself. Ugh so unfortunate. We had an argument earlier, but oh well I'm going to have to like it or not.

    Anyways, he will only be charging me $100 dollars. Even though its not alot, I don't want my assets to decline at all. So I've been applying for a job and got some interviews at places like Starbucks and the movie theatre. My question is: when or how do I tell my boss I only want to work 10-15 hours max? I really want the job, but I don't want to turn him off or lure him away when he sees I only want a limited amount of hours. Thanks

  • Do you think 16 units is reasonable at community college?

    Okay so I've already completed 1 year of CC and this would be my second year. I have a 3.9 Gpa and manage to get straight A's for the most part. Since I don't work, I am always focused on my studying. These last 2 semesters I was way ahead and finished my assignments way too fast. This semester I want to be more busy and get more done. I usually take 12 units. This next semester i signed up for 16 units. Of course, It's mostly math/science courses and not, lets say, humanities courses. I'm taking

    Trig (3units)

    General chemistry 101 (5units)

    General Biology 101 (5units)

    Sociology (American social problems) (3unit)

    I am a chemistry major so chem would be my most enjoyable class. I'm really good at math, but never taken a trig class. I've also never taken a biology class before. Sociology like most non-stem classes have always been easiest for me. What do you guys think? I'm primarily concerned with trig. It looks a bit abstract.

  • What is a good present to give to my professor before moving away?

    Okay so I'm going off to college in Boston, and I'm graduating high school. I have been concurrently attending community college. There is this professor who I really appreciate alot. She was the nicest person ever to me. When I was in algebra 2, she allowed me to be in her precalculus class since I was to advanced for her alg 2 class. She also let me be in her statistics class even though I wasnt signed up for it. The point is, I thank her for alot of me progressing in math greatly and want to get her something, but idk what. I am low income but don't mind getting her swim thing no more then $50 dollars. She's really wealthy already, so idk what. Thank you!

  • Simple chemistry gas law question? Im so confused?

    I really don't know where to start. I know that Boyles alw is p1v1 = k ......p2v2=K and that p1v1 = p2v2

    A certain gas is present in a 12.0L cylinder at 2.0atm pressure. If the pressure is increased to 4.0atm , the volume of the gas decreases to 6.0L . Find the two constants ki, the initial value of k, and kt the final value of k, to verify whether the gas obeys Boyle’s law.

  • Could somebody please help me on this gas law question for chem?

    Its online and im finished with every problem but cant do this one. The computer keeps marking me wrong. I already solved for V in PV=NRT and got 0.41 L. But that answer is wrong i suppose. I converted celcius into Kelvin.

    What volume of O2 at 722 atm Hg and 41 degrees celcius is required to synthesize 11.5 of NO?

    The unbalanced equation is ?NH3 + ?O2 -> ?NO + ?H2O

    I balanced it and got 4 NH3 + 5 O2 -> 4 NO + 6 H20

    Plese help!

  • Why doesn't my car turn on? Please help?

    I drive a 1999 honda accord v6. It has 230k miles. However, it was my dads and they bought it brand new and have always took really good care of it. I just got my license 6 months ago and they gave me the car, so I hardly have that much time with it. I don't know much about cars, but my dad always checks it for me. It runs super great and always turns on right away and never had a problem.

    Just last night I went out to the mall with my cousins and got home at 11:30pm. Everything was fine. This morning at 8am when I was getting ready to leave to class, my car simply wouldn't turn on. This is the first time it's ever happened to me or anybody. When I turn the key it just keeps clicking but doesn't turn on. My uncle gave me a jump start and that didnt work. He told me it needs a new starter. The lights work fine and the radio too. What could be the problem? The battery number reads 13.8.

    I don't want to tell my dad, so I will be going to the mechanic by myself. Thanks for help

The female (I forgot her name) was trying to seduce him but it didn't work because he was gay and was looking at a gay magazine. So Anthony anderson comes in and he does end up falling for him. Anybody remember? I really want to see it again
