Why did my car release steam yet the radar is marking the car as cold?
Okay so my car has been perfectly running. I have a 1999 honda accord. Last week, my car needed power steering fluid, so I refilled my car with it. This morning, I noticed that when I turned the steering wheel a cracking noise occurred. It was the same noise as last week when my car needed that power steering fluid. When I arrived home from work, I noticed that some steam was coming out of the car. I was too afraid to open the hood, but I noticed it coming out from the exact area where I put that fluid. The car temperature radar marked my car as cold, so It was clear it wasn't the engine. 5 hours later, I pop'd open the hood and noticed the power steefing fluid was empty again. It's obviously leaking because I just put some 7 days ago. What happened to my car or what caused that steam? It barely occurred today. I already filled the car with steering fluid again and thankfully no more steam

i bet your power steering reservoir is leaking and the steam was it evaporating when it hit the exhaust or other hot engine parts. even if the gauge said the engine was cold-warm in reality the engine really is quite hot most likely hot enough to boil power steering fluid leaking onto it
take out the reservoir, drain the fluid, cap the hole in the bottom for release, fill a bucket with water and put the sealed reservoir inside the bucket, if there is a leak you should find some water leas inside the reservoir if that is the case just buy a new reservoir, if not then get a mechanic to check and repair the hoses causing the problem
