It's not as funny as believing that the world evolved around space slime.

earth is 4.5 billion years old and has 30 sedimentary rock layers containing the fossils of creatures which are different in each layer and which no longer exist in our world now.

some of those creatures appear man like.

we have been here walking on top of these former creations for 6000 years.

Young-earth creationists believe the earth is only 6000 years old. This is a fringe doctrine to which the great majority of Christians do not subscribe.

When you grow up, you'll understand that religion is based on faith and that is believing without proof. If God came by and had lunch with you, you would have to believe. You saw him at your table. That would be almost forcing you to follow him. Once you met him, you couldn't NOT believe.

Rather than do that, he gives you the choice. You have free will and you decide. As far as aging the planet is concerned. Who cares ! Religion isn't a science and what is not clear, can become clear if you study their findings. This isn't something three kids on a swing set came up with. Serious people studied and came up with this conclusion. I'm not a scholar, so I don't doubt them, until I gather enough info to be sure I understand what their saying.

They are correct. Folks who say the world is millions or billions of years old are lying.
