How do you solve this easy (but kinda tricky?) math problem?

During the basketball season, Cara scored 25 points more than Annika, and Maria scored 37 points less than Annika. What is the positive difference between the average number of points scored by the three players and the number of points that Annika scored?

Can somebody explain it to me also, Cause i'm not really sure at all. Thank you! And this isn't math homework, its a just for fun math problem I found online.

Suppose that Annika scored a points

that means Cara scored a + 25 points

taht means Maria scored a - 37 points

    Average scores of the players = (a + a + 25 + a - 37)/3

    = a - 4

The answer to problem is the positive difference betwwen this average score and a

    = I (a - 4) - a I = 4

4 is the final answer to the problem

Based on the information given in the problem, the number of points scored by the three players are:

    Annika: x

    Cara: x + 25

    Maria: x - 37

    So the average number of points is (x + x + 25 + x - 37) / 3 = x - 4

    The difference between the average (x - 4) and Annika's score (x) is 4

Let A be the points Annika scored

    Carla's score = C = A+25

    Maria's score = M = A-37

The total score for all 3 is 3A-12

    The average score was A - 4

The difference between that and Annika's score is 4.
