Can I still major in Economics without high school classes in it?

I'm a high school student who is interested in majoring in Economics [business/managerial probably] but I've never taken an official Economics class in high school. My high school offers no AP Macro / Micro class and only offers an Economics class to seniors. However, I'm in the IB Programme, and we are excluded from taking that Economics class.

I don't want to drop the program though...

I fear that I will be discriminated when I apply for an Economics major at a good university since I have no high school experience.

My interest in Economics first stemmed from picking up The Economist magazine. From there, I researched and read more about Economics and thoroughly enjoyed it.

So can I still major in Economics considering my circumstances?

Thanks.

No problem. Colleges are there to teach people things they do not know. Good luck!

Most trade associated majors don't require plenty of math courses. You normally must go simplest up to calculus I. I'm not sure as to what number of economics and accounting lessons you want but my brother who's an accounting main had micro and macro economics, business facts, calculus I, and financial accounting because the fundamental prerequisites to get into the trade tuition. Your SAT rating is pretty good however it won't be a excellent indicator of how you will do in college. Do your satisfactory in college and you'll be successful.
