Am I able to exercise with mild hives?

Earlier this week since Wednesday, I had a severe allergic reaction to some kind of laundry detergent. I had bad hives, and my hands and feet would burn with pain. Today, I'm about 95% better except that my a small part of my calf's and a small part of my thighs are still a bit itchy. Would I be able to go to the gym today and exercise? Would exercising cause my hives to come back again?

Should I take a Benadryl before I go to the gym? I've had two 25mg benadryls about four times yesterday. I took them at 9:00am and I stopped taking them 3:30am this morning. So can I take more benadryl again so I won't have to worry?

Please help me, thank you. :) :D

Update:

I'm 224 and 5' 7" So, Taking more benadryl won't kill me? I've had 200mg of Benadryl since yesterday. I was taking 50mg every 6 hours.

Update 2:

Oops I mean I'm 224lbs and 5' 7". The last time I took the benadryl was at 3:30am. I was just going to take 25mg before I go to the gym. Is that ok?

Exercising may cause your hives to worsen a bit. Not because the exercise causes hives, but I assume that like most people you will get all sweaty while working out. And sometimes it's something as minor as that that can worsen hives. So wear clean cotton clothing that will wick away the sweat and minimize irritation to the skin if you are going to work out.

In terms of medications. Take a zyrtec (cetirizine) or claritin (loratidine) as it's longer lasting and with less drowsiness (works best if you take it once daily for a few days in a row). Benadryl should be fine to take up to every 6 hours and 50mg is an adult dose (assuming you weight at least ~100lbs or ~50kg) but you are guaranteed going to be drowsy with that much benadryl, so don't go driving or operating heavy machinery!
