My asdf keys wont work on my Dell XPS 1501x?
I have just come back from a week away of geology research and my ASDF keys wont work? No one at all has been home and I didn't leave my computer on either. They worked right before I left. Is this a virus or hardware fault? Any suggestions would be very helpful. thanks :)

Hi Kieran Ewart,
If you have any external USB keyboard, you may connect it to computer and see if it exhibits the same behavior. If it does, it might be an issue with operating system of your computer. If the external keyboard work without any issues, you may disconnect it and then try using an On screen keyboard (In case your system has Vista or Windows 7 or Windows 8). To use On screen keyboard:
Choose Start/Windows logo → Control Panel → Ease of Access → Ease of Access Center.
Click the Start On-Screen Keyboard button.
Test out the on-screen keyboard input in any application where you can enter text.
Click Options, select the Turn on numeric key pad check box, and then click OK.
Open a notepad and try typing on that by clicking on the keys of On screen keyboard.
Note: To use keystroke combinations (such as Ctrl+Z), click the first key (in this case, Ctrl) and then click the second key (Z). You don’t have to hold down the first key as you do with a regular keyboard.
If the issue persists, you may also try re-seating the keyboard of computer. You may find detailed instructions on reseating the keyboard from the link: http://bit.ly/Xui9pW
Please ensure to follow safety instructions mentioned in manual. If the issue persists, keyboard need replacement.
Please share the findings. Will take it further from here.
Thanks and Regards,
