If I graph the piecewise function

F(x) x + 1, if 0 < x <= 3,

4, if 3 < x <= 5,

X -1, if x > 5

I would think once x > 5 it would start from the coordinate (5,-1). But on the answer sheet it just goes up at x from (4,5). Why is this?

Hi, I have a stat test tomorrow and have every type of question down except this one. I use the t test paired two sample for means tool and enter the test stat value and 2-T value but it keeps coming up with the answer being incorrect. Can someone please do a run through of how to use this function correctly to solve this answer. Thank you!!

I downloaded Corel Draw and my computer turned off halfway through. This resulted in the program in being partially installed. I attempted to remove it, but to no avail. So I tried to repair it which stayed at the same screen with no progress for hours and was not proceeding anywhere. I checked control panel and could not locate it there, so I found it in the program files(x86) and deleted it from there. I assumed this worked, but when I tried to re-install the program it only came up with modify, repair or remove. With only the two options again I tried both methods again, the repair could not find the setup.msi file and the uninstall just proceeded to do nothing for an hour. There is no files i can locate that relate to the program, I have searched all my program files and have typed the program name into the start-up search which refused to work also.

I am thinking about trying a system restore, but I thought I'd check with you guys first to see if there is any other methods to try.

Was just curious as to why they don't make a supercomputer using peoples personal computers around the world? Simply just by asking people to download software that uses that computers computational power at a certain time. It would take a very very small fraction to create a computer more powerful than any other supercomputer. The only floor to it that I can think of that may be why they wouldn't do it is massive latency times, but surely the positives of so much power would weigh out the negatives?

I have just come back from a week away of geology research and my ASDF keys wont work? No one at all has been home and I didn't leave my computer on either. They worked right before I left. Is this a virus or hardware fault? Any suggestions would be very helpful. thanks :)

I have been thinking about this lately. We wonder if there is life out there and if it is intelligent etc. But surely scientists could run a simulation that could give a general dating of how long it would take for intelligent life such as us to form in the universe and whether we are perhaps some of the earliest life at this complexity or billions of years late, it would really give an idea on what life we should expect out there. I know we would only be able to run a simulation that checks for life similar to ours but surely its possible.

Intelligent life would be inevitable in a planets life's evolutionary if it has the right conditions.

It would take a number of major variables to dictate the age at which intelligent life could form such as: -cooling down of universe

-Second generation stars (Contain solar systems)

- Time for planet to become suitable for life

- Time it takes for intelligent life to form from simple life

You would simply look for the earliest age of the variables and it would give some sort of estimation of life whether it be 6 billion years or the 13 billion years that it took us.

I feel that it seems like a question that scientists really should be asking

So does anyone know if this has been estimated?

Hi I was the handout format. Having 2 slides on one page, but not for the purposes of printing it off. I simply want to put them on my ipad and take it to lectures so I can add side notes beside the lecture slides. How can I achieve this? It only puts it in a handout form if I print it and that is exactly what I don't want to do

it says this is the solution, but i cant work out how 3/2−1/4+1/6=18/12−3/12+2/12=17/12

the first = -36 while the second = 36. how come??

This is my current diet. As you can see I'm eating only adds up to 1527 calories. As a guy I need at least 2000 potentially more since I'm going to the gym 7 times a week. I am trying to lose some belly and his fat to get abdominal muscles showing.

Currently I weight 76 kg and believe I'm about 6 kg off reaching my goal, then I will start a carb diet to gain muscle.

So do you think on this temporary weight loss I need to increase my calories or is this fine? And if yes what foods should I take

okay this may be a little wordy, but please bear with me :) okay so i can control my pc with my ipad, and i have just started playing diablo 3 on my ipad through the computer. it is very near perfect! the problem is that i need a shift key on screen. the key needs to work with a simple left click on a computer. is there anyway to do this through windows 7 or any programs that may help? the problem is that the app doesnt allow you to add your own buttons. thank you! :)

Hey guys, a couple months ago my computer got a bad virus and I had to restore it to complete factory settings. I noticed when I was doing a windows performance test that my computers processor score has gone done from 7.1 to 4.9. Instead of a 2,83 ghz quadcore it now says 1.73ghz quadcore, What is wrong with it? And is this affecting my computers performance?

So this sounds like a straightforward thing and I have found heaps of pages on the microsoft website that say how to download direct x or where to download direct x. But none actually have a link that downloads it. Please help :/

Okay so this would be the best video game idea ever for a game changer haha. An mmo that had what they have in 'in time'. Practically you start with a set amount of time to live, and you have to work to earn time or you'll die. Essentially you can earn time by working and have consistent time but only enough time for the days ahead, but you can also risk your time or life etc for bigger rewards. To get the idea of what I'm meaning, just watch the movie haha. And the currency is your time, you use your time to buy weapons etc. They have to make time hard to get so people do die.
