Had sex with my girlfriend for the first time... UTI?
This weekend (Friday night) my gf and I enjoyed our first sexual experience together, and because we trust eachother and she is on birth control, we decided against using a condom. Of course, I am worried of getting a UTI since it was unprotected. I of course urinated after we were finished but I am still worried I will get one. If I had one, when would symptoms appear? two days have passed since we had intercourse.

A urinary tract infection (UTI) is caused by bacteria that get inside your urinary tract. Most bacteria that enter your urinary tract are expelled when you urinate. If the bacteria stay in your urinary tract, you may get an infection. Your urinary tract includes your kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. Urine is made in your kidneys, and it flows from the ureters to the bladder. Urine leaves the bladder through the urethra. A UTI is more common in your lower urinary tract, which includes your bladder and urethra.
What are the signs and symptoms of a UTI?
1 Urinating more often or waking from sleep to urinate
2 Pain or burning when you urinate
3 Pain or pressure in your lower abdomen
4 Urine that smells bad
5 Leaking urine
