How do you phonetically pronounce the name Ragnar?

Would you pronounce it RAG-nahr or RAWNG-nar.

Update:

Ragnar is a really old name. It's Scandinavian and Old Norse meaning "Strong Army, Judgment Warrior". It's also a Viking name. Asking this for a novel.

    I live in Iceland, and there, Ragnar is a common name. There we say RAG-nahr. :)
