My son wants to go to a college owned by the idiotic hypocrites, the Southern Baptist Convention...?
b/c it offers the most in scholarships (which has a lot to do with his coach-stupid meathead)
What are the chances of him getting a real job if he stays there to graduate?
I forgot to add, he's majoring in accounting
@ pirategirl, since he was not indoctrinated in that system from birth, I'm hoping logic will prevail over his teenage rebellious desires.
I was mostly venting b/c not only is he being stubborn about this, but my parents are of course supporting him.
At the end of the day, I think he has a good chance of getting fed up with it...but,I was a little curious if he does stay...

Hi there
So long as the above institution is a recognized, accredited and registered education provider with the state that is licensed to offer nationally recognized programs and courses as well as having the authority to award degrees (which would be part of the accreditation and registration requirements) then it should be all in order.
Colleges and universities that provide a quality education and deliver what is required to satisfy the requirements of the program is important otherwise they would not be permitted to offer them to the public.
They may not have the same profiles as other well-known institutions, but the fact is that if you son graduates with a degree he should have the same opportunities as anyone else to find employment within the state or elsewhere in his chosen career.
Like anywhere else, employment opportunities are dictated by demand, the state of the economy and which field of accounting he wants to specialise in looking for his skills and knowledge.
But it does pay to look at other colleges to see what other options are on offer because there may be something better around, more flexible, better teaching methodologies, resources etc.
It is like looking for a house or a car, do not necessarily buy the first one you see.
It pays to do a search on the internet on career websites by sector to see what how many jobs are being advertised, just need to be wary that agencies have this tendency to list the same job several different ways to give the impression to to the searcher that there are more jobs then actually are.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Mr Books

AVOID BAPTIST COLLEGES.
I've heard horror stories from those. Let him go to a state school or research more into smaller, private colleges (some are generous with their scholarships!).
