Why create around 1.7 million species and only take an interest in one (man)?

Update:

logjam60... How does it go "and the lion shall lie down with the lamb" or something like that, the trouble is that the lions set of pearly whites aren't designed for eating vegetables, but that lamb is another story.

Well man created God, so of course man would be his number one priority. Any other animal would put themselves first if they created their own deity too. Most religions point back to astrology. Most, if not all, events in the Bible never actually happened. Religion is barely hanging on compared to what it used to be, but some people are so obsessed with following tradition and some people were brainwashed by their parents at a young age and believe their religion is the right one.

Also keep in mind that humans are the ones that label different animals as "species". The line between different species is often blurred, and mutations and adaptations give way to new species all the time. In this day and age, it's just foolish to ignore all of the advances humans have made in understanding the way the world works. In the words of Richard Dawkins, "As ever when we unweave a rainbow, it will not become less wonderful".

there are loads more than 1.7 million species.. but who said that god's only interested in this one species, or that the rest of them have no place in the greater system? a dynamic system's much better able to adapt and survive than a static one, if it was just us here and we were immortal and our cells didn't need to die and to be replaced and living things didn't evolve, then we'd be vulnerable, and in the system we've been put in (or have just found ourselves in, or whatever), we're immortal in a more true sense than the other way .. that's how i see it, anyway

Have you not heard that God knows even when a sparrows fall to the ground. God interests in man is in fellowship, God's interest in all others is a gift for man and in the first estate they were to be those that would help and fulfill his earthly ministry. For God made them for man not man for them.

And what makes you think God is only interested in one of all of His creations? The atonement of Christ was to save all of creation, from single celled animal on up to and including us. God is the god of all life and sees to it that each life form has the environment it needs for its success and growth within the limits of its being.

I assume you are asking as it pertains to God (who created the 1.7 mil species)?

    He didn't.

Exactly my reasoning, what if aliens turn out to exist, pretty sure theyd be annoyed if we told them we were more important than they were
