a question about El Centro?
In the mid 60's I was a British Merchant Seaman and jumped ship in LA with a couple of friends. We ended up in a detention centre in El Centro which I have been trying to find on Google Maps.
I know it was somewhere near the airbase because we saw planes flying over all day, but the only thing like a detention centre seems to be the State Prison, would that have been it?
1 AnswerSan Diego8 years agoDid you see the chicken cross the road?
The chicken is continually being accused of crossing the road, this amounts to persecution. I believe it should be innocent till proven guilty.
Equal rights for chickens.
4 AnswersJokes & Riddles8 years agoHow come the USA man/woman in the street change so much when they get a bit of authority?
I have met so many generous, friendly and humorous people from the USA both in the US and elsewhere and I have felt that there is "a special relationship", but every time their authorities are involved it goes t@#ts up. They seem to use there obvious strength to divert any pressure away from themselves onto the nearest scapegoat, even if it's the first country to support them it hits the fan. Their Senators are in a frenzy trying to crucify BP because of the oil and Lockerbee but they conveniently forget about Hunters Point and siding with the IRA.

did he/her/it create us?
I'm agnostic but lean more towards evolution than creation.

of the world, Judaism, Islam and Christianity all stemmed from the middle east
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf you had won the highest honour a nation can give how would you feel to be told that you are not welcome?
I'm talking about the Gurkhas. The man in question, 84-year-old Tul Bahadur Pun won the Victoria Cross fighting for us but Britain's Home Office told him: "You have failed to demonstrate that you have strong ties with the UK." The Gurkhas have always been one of the first into action wherever the British Army is sent, is there really anyone that would begrudge them the same pension and rights as any British soldier no matter where they decide to live?
