Folder options in Windows 7 - hide/view, show full paths, etc.?

do I HAVE to go to control panel settings to adjust folder options like hide/view system files, show extensions, single click, etc. etc. ?

I can't do it quickly from any folder?

UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH - add this to the very, very long list of things I HATE about windows 7 and why XP was the best OS of all time.

It is ridiculous that I am a database developer and yet finding out simple questions' answers about basic Windows are now so difficult one has to have window 7 on one screen, google or a wiki site on the other just to navigate it. RIDICULOUS.

Update:

I think you misunderstood my question. i meant from WITHIN any regular folder ... like you could with XP. (without having to go to the control panel as you're suggesting.).
