He see's himself get killed as an adult, but doesn't know that it's him. So is he cursed to grow up and re-live everything over and over again like a time-loop? If you want to fully explain the film to me, be my guest. Please, if you do, tell it like you'd tell a 8 year old. I'm pretty confused by this movie.

No, he is not cursed to relive it over and over because: remember, this isn't his "real" time - he has gone back in time and is looking at his "Past self" as a child. That child has already grown up and IS him.
