MOMS: Balancing your kids happiness & your own?

How do you mommy's out there balance your kids happiness and your own??? Lately I've realized other than being a mommy and wife I don't know who I am, all my free time goes to my family. I love my family and wouldn't take anything for them, but I also don't want to be that 50 yr old dancing topless at a bar trying to relive my youth. I wanna have fun, adult fun, every so often and I want my babies to be happy. However, I can't figure out how to shake that guilty feeling I feel when I do go out w/o my kids or family. And I feel so outta place when I do....am I weird or what haha.

I don't recall ever feeling upset as a child when my parents went out and a babysitter came over. In fact, I loved when had we babysitters, the night was always more fun than normal. I also remember I loved spending time with my cousins and grandparents. Like waking up Sunday morning at my grandma's was the best, we would make hot chocolate and homemade pancakes. Because of those fond memories, I have absolutely no qualms about leaving my daughter with our relatives or her babysitter every now and then while I go out. She doesn't need me hovering over her 24/7 to be happy, I know she can be just as happy with her grandparents as she can with me. So, yeah, focusing on stuff like that is how I am able to balance her happiness and mine.

its not wrong to want to have some alone time, it's healthy and important to have some time away from your daily responsibilities.

I find that when I have some 'me time', I get back to my family feeling more fresh and energetic.
