WHO IS IN CHARGE OF LANDFILLS?

im doing a project about landfills in civics, can you tell me what part of the government takes care of landfills? pleasee any answers! thank you!

    most often it's a city. In rural areas it might be the county government instead. Look in your local phone book, white pages and under the name of your city look for the solid waste department. you can phone that number and ask any questions you might have. most white pages listings will read like "Dayton, city of" or "Dallas, county of"

    Local governments are in charge of most landfills, and they are generally regulated by the EPA.
