Lanzarote - what is there to do, apart from the beach?

You can do a fantastic trip to the fire mountains. Depending where you are on the island...... In Playa Blanca you can take the boat (day trip boat not the commuter ferry its 2x price) to the next island Fuertaventura to Corralejo for the day. Also you can walk up the mountain, its not that high and is volcano, you can walk around the crater at the top it was amazing. The town is nice too and you can wander a long way each way up the beach. In Costa Teguise you can again wander far and it is a lovely town to explore. Puerto del Carmen has a big shopping centre and is more lively resort. Of course there are watersports and bikes etc to hire. If you want just a beautiful beach with not much to do you want Jandia in Fuertaventura.
