it is amazing how many people think the king james version in english is somehow the definitive Bible, and other more accurate translations are corrupt.

I'm probably wasting my time answering you, as your comments show that your mind is already made up. 7 months ago your question on y!a challenged: "Can any Jehovah Witness give any proof that the NWT isn't the most corrupted Bible ever produced?" to which you received a range of excellent responses [mostly ones you obviously didn't want to hear], from both JWs and non-JWs who gave their own views, as well as those of prominent independent Bible authorities and scholars, ALL of whom were in praise of the integrity of the New World Translation according to the original textual Hebrew/Aramaic [OT] and Koine Greek [NT] meanings. One quote given was from EDGAR FOSTER: (Classics Major, Lenoir-Rhyne College), who concluded: "The NWT is a fine translation. In my mind, it is the translation _par excellence."

Again, I realize that you will, no doubt, read this with your night mask on, but the FACT is, that Jesus is NOT his father. If you insist that Jesus IS his Father, how is that in any way logical? Does that in any way identify with our human experience, given that God created us in his image [Genesis 1:26,27], that is to say with his qualities, including the ability to use wisdom, insight and discernment, things that aid us in determining whether something is logical or not? Where is the logic in asserting that Jesus IS his Father?

To get to your comment, the KJV and other translations use the present tense of "ego eimi" [I am] at John 8:58 when the rules of Koine Greek dictate that it must align with the tense preceding it [which it has to do to make sense].

John 8:58 [NWT] then reads: "Jesus said to them: “Most truly I say to you, Before Abraham came into existence, I have been." [or, "Before Abraham came into existence, I WAS."]

If you insist on the KJV rendering: "Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am", it makes no sense, because the tense is wrong. And they do it to try and prove that Jesus is God because of what God himself said to Moses at Exodus 3:14. It is a spurious claim that can be demonstrated to be false by so many scriptures that show that Jesus is NOT his Father. [Matthew 24:36; 26:42; John 1:14,18; 5:19,30; 8:42,54; Philippians 2:6,7; Colossians 1:15,16; Psalms 90:2]

Another common scripture used in a number of translations to support the claim that Jesus is his Father is John 1:1 where certain rules of Koine Greek grammar are ignored. In the KG there is no indefinite article [no 'a' or 'an']; only the definite article [the]. In the last phrase of John 1:1 the word 'god' in that place is not preceded by the definite article, therefore the indefinite article 'a' automatically applies. Correctly, then, it concludes, "and the Word was A god." Now the scripture makes sense, because how can the "Word be WITH God" and yet BE God himself? By ignoring those fundamental rules in KG grammar, it distorts the truth of God's word and make a mockery of common sense.

Jesus certainly never said he was God himself. At John 14:28 Jesus said, "The Father is greater than I am." He always directed his followers to worship his Heavenly Father, not himself. [Luke 4:8; John 4:23,24]

By your implication that Jesus is his Father, you not only dishonor his father, Jehovah, but you also seek to have Jesus dishonor his Father also.
