Win32/Cryptor- Antivirus detects but doesn't remove after reboot?

I've been hit with a Win32/Cryptor Trojan. So far it hasn't done any damage, but it is flooding my laptop with malware.

I have Windows 7 and AVG 2013 and during the scans it locates the virus and then tells me I need to reboot for it to completely remove the virus.

But after various soft and hard reboots the virus remains.

Is there anything I can still do to manually remove this thing or do I have to take it to the experts now? (My local PC people charge £99 to remove viruses so I want to try everything I possibly can before taking it there.)

Update:

PS. I backed up all my files/work etc on an external hard-drive about a week before this thing struck (I do that about once a month), so if I need to restore all my software and wipe out all my files I wil be happy to do so.

    Hey :)

Its a pretty popular trojan. AVG calls it Win32/Cryptor. It is generally known as Trojan TDSS. Try this simple tool from kaspersky labs, the TDSS Killer.

Its very easy. Open this link http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/utility and download the TDSS Killer (the very first in the list) exe file (click on the green block). Its only 2.13MB, and easy to use. Start windows in safe mode, and run the tool. Click on start scan, and it will scan and fix the trojan. There might be a reboot after this, and it'll be as fine as it was before.

OMG!!! did i read £99?? Kill them. I'll send you a link to FakeExperts Killer soon.

Try following Satyam advice and using malwarebytes for good measure. Scan and see if they can remove it. Also I am to assume your using AVG Free? If so, I would like to know how you got that virus.

Another thing is that you can google separate standalone things for those specific viruses.

I would suggest you upgrade to a pay version AV if you can afford like Kaspersky. However, if you continue to use AVG remember to browse safely, scan usbs, and etc....

if your problem is solved afterwards.

p.s. it says to reboot after you choose to select "remove all" correct? Are there any other viruses found? Was it detected through full scan or resident shield? IS AVG set to delete detected threats?
