    5b - 3a = c

    5b = c + 3a

    b = (c + 3a) / 5

    In order to solve for b, or any other variable, you must end up with b = (whatever). So, you would first add 3a to each side, giving you 5b = 3a + c. Then, divide both sides by 5, giving you b = (3a + c) / 5. There's your answer.

    In order to isolate the b, pretend you're solving a normal equation.

    5b-3a=c

    Add 3a to both sides of the equation.

    5b=c+3a

    Now simply divide both sides of the equation by b.

    b=(c+3a)/5

    b=(3a+c)/5 <----- Answer
