what is a good gaming computer?

I am looking for a new computer to play the elder scrolls online when it comes out. I can spend at most 1000$ but I would prefer to spend less. I don't care if it's a laptop or desktop, just whatever is cheaper.

Dell Inspiron i15R-2369sLV which has the Price of $650 which means you can save $350. And also it is one of the most reliable laptop. It also has good features as well which are one of the most efficient available in the market. You can see the comment from an actual user as well to see that how it actually performs. It has really good features which includes Intel Core i7-3632QM 2.2 GHz Processor which is really efficient and powerful. It has 8 GB DDR3 which is really good short term memory which can handle your multitasking convincingly. It has 1 TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive for storage with 15-Inch Screen.

You can see other laptops from other brands as well. Here is a list of laptops which are under $1000:

For around 1000$ US, try a system (desktop) with the following specs:

    All prices are from newegg.com.

    . intel core i5-3570k

    . gigabyte Z77 - UD3H motherboard

    . Corsair Vengeace 4GB x 2 modules @ 1866mhz (total 8gb ram)

    . seagate 1TB hdd

    . corsair force 3 ssd drive 120gb

    . sapphire Radeon hd7870 2gb

    . Corsair 400R Case

    . Corsair 650 watt PSU

    . CM v6gt cpu cooler

This comes out to be a little over 1000$ but it is still worth it.

This PC will run all the latest games on high settings without any lag.

Price to Performance wise, desktops are ALOT cheaper and faster than laptops in gaming.

For budget PC builds (500$; If you can) the two most important things are the CPU and GPU. (Graphics card) But, you could look for AMD CPU's with integrated APU's (Technically GPU). The best one they have is the A10-5800K for only 120$ (Comparable to a i5 processor). But, it depends on what games you play on the PC, or what you do on them.

But since you have a $1000 price range at maximum, go towards an Intel i7 based machine with a decent graphics card. I would heavily recommend looking around carefully for what you really need/want for your machine. It all depends what games you play. But don't buy an Alienware. They tend to be EXTREMELY overpriced, and their most expensive ($2500) is the only very well gaming PC they have available. If you know a lot about computers, try building one. It may be slightly more expensive than buying one, but it will most likely outperform perform/run very well, depending on what you choose.

But if you don't know a lot about computer hardware, find a computer with at least an Intel i5 processor (Or AMD FX-series, whichever you prefer) or a GeForce 650 or Radeon 7850. Good luck finding what you need.

Intel Pentium i7? Seriously dude if you don't know what is what then you should never comment on anything having to do with computers

F.Y.I. Dell owns Alienware now and they make crappy overpriced PCs, think of Apple but for gaming

Custom built D.I.Y PCs will get you more for your money

Don't get Alienware NO MATTER WHAT. Build your own PC, it's not that complicated. Do some research for parts and watch the video I linked.
