Why do people think only one ideology can work in practice, when there might be many functional alternatives?

Many , who are drawn to simplistic ideologies, haven't got the wherewithal to cope with complexity. That's why they grab at an easy ideology that strokes their egos and promises them a privileged existence.

It wouldn't be an ideology if one admitted that compromise was possible or that alternatives were viable.

The ideologies are irrelevant. It is all about spending more than we have.

You cannot do anything that either party wants if you don't have the money. And right now we don't have the money.

The simple minded tend to gravitate towards ideologies that tells them they are special.

That sounds like the rep party refusing to discuss issues by setting the record amount of filibusters.

If the rep party had America's best interest at heart (not it's own) it would work w/ the dems to improve America's future.

America's gov works best w/ compromise ... it was designed w/ that in mind.

Because execution of one is more practical

Capitalism works, socialism doesn't....FACT!!

Because thats how their daddy did it and his daddy and they can't think for them selves.
