Is it okay to write a book from the opposite gender's PoV?

I was just wondering if it's alright to write a book from a boy's point of view if you're a girl? Or do you think it'll be better to switch between a girl and a boy?

Of course it's OK. Authors do it all the time - some more convincingly than others, it has to be said. The thing is to concentrate first on making the character believable as a person, and only then worry about whether he or she is believable as a male or female. Individuals can differ more from typical or average behaviour for their sex more than the averages for male and female differ from one another.

Of course! JK Rowling wrote from a boy's point of view (Harry Potter), John Green from a girl's (The Fault in Our Stars)...

There are so many successful books that do this, and it's perfectly fine!

You can write from any Point of View you want as long as you feel comfortable. There are series of books told from the point of View of a bunch of cats. JK Rowling mostly told her story from Harry's point of View. Most people probably start writing the main character as someone relatable to them, but if you feel comfortable, you could write a story from the perspective of a frog.

Why should this be a problem? There are going to be other differences between you and your characters - should you just not write the book at all?

i think of it impacts women human beings much less, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it truly is in comparison to they fullyyt neglect approximately it. i think of the two genders are vulnerable to study books who's protagonist is the comparable gender as they are, men i think of greater beneficial than women human beings. Like how J.ok. Rowling thought that boys does not even pick to study a e book with a woman author, by no skill strategies protagonist. i assume that isn't any longer probably correct, yet marlborro used to sell their cigarettes had purple education so their lipstick does not smudge on it and be significant, yet whilst they marketed cowboys making use of it, the form of ladies human beings determining to purchase the product did no longer bypass down (a minimum of i think of it truly is the story, hehe)

Authors do it all the time. The good thing about being an author is you get to create your universe, have fun with that. Good Luck!

I don't see why not, aslong as you think it can or will relate to a boy's point of view
