why do people bother with relationships?

Obviously people need to procreate and love is great etc...

But nothing lasts for ever and there will always be an end to a relationship and the pain from that makes me wonder why i or anyone keeps bothering to get so attatched to people.

Even when you're in a relationship you will not feel good all the time whether it's jealousy, frustration or paranoia.

I think i can imagine you'll say it's clear i'm bitter and cynical.

does anyone else wonder why we put ourselves through the pain of being hurt in a relationship even if the good bit is really good, is it worth it?

Omg I was wondering about the same thing! My previous relationship was filled with love, but in the end it only taught me that things change so quickly, and the love someone once felt for you could just go away. The thought of this really scared...right now I don't know whether it's worth it to even try to be in a relaitonship anymore, as nothing lasts forever and it the end it's only pain and bitterness.

But I guess as people it is in our nature. We can say we're tough, strong and independent. But when you meet someone who you have strong feelings for, you won't be able to resist it. We are willing to take the risk even though we sub consciously know it could end. Your feelings for someone can be so strong, that when the time comes you cannot resist it.

What did my pevious relationship leave me with? tears, pain and more pain. Even now. But it also left me with beautiful memories that I will keep forever. Memories makes our life meaningful because we then know so much has happened in our life.

Quest for love. I also suppose it is part of our nature.
