Shikamaru vs. Temari chuunin exam fight?
When Shikamaru fought Temari, he should have walked backwards so she fell in the hole. He then should have walked forward so shes still stuck there, and kick sand in her face or something like that. It would require little to no energy or chakra after he caught her.
She can't kick him in the face, she will be in the hole, and he will be above ground.
Because what other way would he beat her? And it was pretty childish for him to go through all that then just give up.. and if he thought about it enough he could find a way to win by doing that..

he probably still could gave won he had the next 200 moves planned out, but his laziness and the combination of his lack of chakra made him give up he really didn't care.

Just remember when he's using the Shadow Possession jutsu that if he moves, they'll move too. So if he kicks sand in Temari's face, she will be doing the same back.

Why would he do that? The chunin exams is a wide scale evaluation, to see how genin progressed mentally & physically. Shikamaru became chunin because of his mental prowess throughout the battle, not doing childish tactics.
