Another anime like Death Note?

Death note involves a journal/dairy that allows a person to kill (predict the death) of an individual. This is a psychological suspense anime as well.

- Monster

Death Note and Monster both share the common theme of Justice. They both look quite deeply into human nature, and they are also both quite dark.

- Aoi Bungaku Series

In both series, the first few episodes adapts similar themes with psychological tendencies dealing with the main characters' consciousness. There is a similar feeling and the main character here even looks similar.

- Shinrei Tantei Yakumo

Both animes are suspenseful in similar ways and both are thrilling mystery/detective genre themes with a similar feel in many scenes.

- Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom

- Darker than black

- Durarara!!

- Psycho-Pass

- Detective Conan.

- Gantz.

- etc..

Try Mirai Nikki. It's more of a psychological and mystery type show, similar to Death Note, but it does have very nice action scenes as well. Nearly every episode completely screws with your mind as you try to figure out what's really going on.

Plus one of the greatest things is one of the main characters, Yuno Gasai. She's one of the most disturbed and psychotic girls out there, so entertaining to watch and nothing at all like Misa.
