My hamster has a swollen eye! HELP!!NOW?
Today when I got home i went to clean my hamsters cages (I have 9 hamsters so it takes a while) and i had finished with the first cage and was going on to the second and when i pick him up to say hi i noticed that right above his right eye it was very swollen and i looked at the eye and it was very watery and he was squinting only with that eye. I checked his other eye and it was the same as all of the other hamsters. What could it be??!! I hope its not a brain tumor or something so please tell me what it is and from and how to treat it and get rid of it.
oh yes i forgot to say that there all in separate cages and also i was checking it and i saw something sticking out of his eye so i looked up online and it might be an abscess.

They like to exercise alot so he probably hurt himself running around and 9 is a lot all together so he probably got hurt with them. Separate him from the rest and give him some days to rest and just clean the eye, if it continues take him to the vet

I agree with the other person. If it gets really bad even within a day take him to the vet. My hamster had a tumor and before I took her to the vet she died :( I'm not trying to worry you. If your hamster shows no signs of being sick other than his swollen eye I don't think it's a tumor. But you can never be too careful :)
