Introduce one food at a time so you can make sure he's not allergic, but you can definitely mix them together after you know he's not allergic to either one!
Fruits and vegetable DO go together. I mix them all the time. Have you seen those toddler squeeze pouches at the store? They mix all kinds of fruits AND veggies together too. You can get some recipe ideas from them, or there are TONS online. Also, health smoothies for adults are made like that too. Just taste it before you give it to him.

No, introduce one at a time.
Continue giving plain squash for 2 more days, and if he doesn't come up with a rash/other signs of allergic reaction, introduce another plain food by itself. Then continue this with each new food.
It's find for you to add two items together once you've ruled the allergy about by doing the first step I said. But it's not going to taste good if you mix a fruit and a veggie together, keep fruits and veggies seperate. Would you like to eat pumpkin mashed with apple?

Once you have introduced both apart from each other, it's fine to mix. But while in the process of introducing new foods, stick to one ingredient for a few days.
