It is a good way of spending time together, and it also helps her get the work done so everyone can enjoy the rest of the day. If you eat, then help, that goes for all the family, as long as they are old enough to do something. Setting the table, putting dishes in sink, stirring anything that isn't hot. Wonderful family time, but if you don't want that then go sit on the couch and have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

It cuts down the amount of time it would normally take for her to prepare dinner.
When I make dinner it always takes me nearly 2 hours from start to finish. Where as when my husband helps, I can get things on the stove a lot sooner.
Then after we've ate he helps me put the food away, which takes less than 10 minutes to do.
Helping her out gives you guys one on one time that you may not have, especially if you have kids.

This isn't the 1950's anymore. Help your wife who most likely does a heck of a lot around the house and for you.

Out of Love and Kindness?
Does she work? If not, then I'd say it's her job. If she does work, then sorry, it's just as much your responsibility as it is hers, so you would do it together or take turns.
Is she ill? If so, then it's your responsibility, unless you're ill too, in which case, both of you do it or it can wait til your both better.
Does she not have time? Too busy handling other responsibilities? If so, then do her the favor. Married people who do favors for one another are happier.

It's because kitchen works are not that easier than you think so if you help her she will feel relieved.

because, that will show her how much you appreciate her :)
If you have the attitude of depending on her, she would hate that.
men should not have that backward attitude of thinking that women should do household.
Dont you have hands and a brain? you could do it too!

Same reason she should help you mow, take out trash, fix the car, kill bugs, and pick up heavy things.
