Why do I get 3 points every time I answer a question?

That is another of the ongoing glitches happening for the past 2 - 3 weeks.

The points do register accurately on your activity.

The Thanks for visiting 1 point pops up over and over for any actions taken.

Deleting an answer,will show for hours, it will get confusing when you ask answer or vote more..

The daily limits reset at different random times.

The counter is showing the minus seconds ago when you ask answer or vote.

There is a Bug Report on the board about it, you can add to it if you like. Staff has not responded.
