Do you find it funny how Christians can take a story like the "great flood" and...?

Turn it into a cute, child-appropriate tale where smiling, big-eyed African animals ride a wooden ship over the pan-global ocean? Completely diluting the part where thousands, if not millions of humans drown hopelessly, and all other forms of life are killed.

The flood was a sad fact, not just a story. God is also infinitely just. But he made a covenant with the world that He would nor destroy it by flood again - by the rainbow. Just about every culture has a great flood 'story'.

Before you laugh to hard, realize its not only Bible believing Christians that believe it. Turkey has part of the Ark in the side of one of their hills and even though they are Muslim, they don't discount it. Many

Native American stories I have read sound very much like the flood. In fact the story of the flood is a part

of many non -Christian nations stories of the beginning. The bible is filled with stories of supernatural

events. Humanist have a hard time with any God that has more power than they do. If the story of the flood was the only supernatural act of God, I would be very skeptical also. If I had no experience with the supernatural, I too would be doubtful. But I have seen it and hope some day you will too.

I have to admit I'm not that familiar with the Bible but yes, it's a bit odd that it seems to trivialize or completely omit any reference to the human victims of the great flood. At least to my hazy recollection of preteen Sunday School classes.

Secular parents that don't embrace the symbolism of the flood narative, most likely don't subject their children to the carnage of the holocaust or the threat of liberty encountered in the 9-11 attacks.

We all tend to dumb it down a bit for the kids.

Funny? That's a poor choice of words. It's a masterpiece. I am a huge fan of Christians and Christianity. Honestly, Christians are master schemers and master deceptors and I will envously look at Christianity in my own mastery of these arts.

The Bible is a very violent book, and it is the most brought book ever in history. As they always say, violence and action always sells.

It isn't funny when you consider that real archeologists admit that based on geological evidences, there really was a universal flood.

They forget that if the story were true, billions of those cute animals died for every one that survived. Same for children.

"Jesus loves the little children", except the ones he drowns. They were full of wickedness.

It pained God that man was so corrupt. The only right person was Noah. I believe that God is love and He is just. He has been pursuing man ever since we first fell. He gives us free will.
