how do I purchase a replacement GE tv remote for a old tv?

My old GE TV has no sound the Time Warner technician said I needed the original remote control to fix the problem.

    i think a universal remote should work

    Most tv made has a manual control on the tv. Check and turn up the volume on the tv. You could always purchase a universal remote for your tv. Original remote can be ordered through the manufacturer. Hope this will help you out.

    You didn't think to ask him where you could get one?

    You could try contacting the manufacturer, find an old 'parts' dealer (antique shop type things or pawn shops), see if maybe a universal remote would help (Best Buy has a good return policy if it doesn't work) or, you know, just buy a new TV...
