Should I keep feeding my pup 3 times a day?
On the bag it says to feed 3 1/2 cups a day, in 3 servings when younger than 6 months, and in 2 servings thereafter. My puppy turned 6 months last week and I started feeding her twice a day, but she has got a bit skinnier, even though I'm feeding her the same amount daily. Should I go back to feeding 3 times a day and try again when she's a bit older? I feed her Blue Buffalo if that matters. Thanks for answers in advance.

The breed of dog would be helpful here. Some dogs are just leaner than others.
Dogs are considered a good weight when you cannot see, but can feel, each individual rib. If you can see the ribs, they're too thin, if you can't feel the ribs, they're too fat. There are a few breeds who have ribs that show a little even at a good weight.
There are many reasons a pup can lose weight, it may have worms (check the stools), it may have a higher activity level - new friends, running more at the park, etc.
I've always fed my dogs twice a day, with treats during the day when I'm around them. Three times a day can be harder to accomplish for most people who work during the day, not only do you have to feed them but they typically poop right after a meal so it can be problematic with a work schedule.
As your puppy grows, it will obviously need more food, so the amount of food should be adjusted as the puppy grows. I tend to feed my dogs as much as they will eat unless they are chowhounds who are prone to fat. I use measuring cups as scoops for their food and if they seem to eat it all and want more, I increase their food. If they leave food in the bowl I decrease how much I give them at each meal.
The guidelines for feeding on the bags are only guidelines. Different breeds and different individual dogs have different food needs. A very active dog needs more food than an inactive dog. Some breeds tend to eat more.
Try giving the puppy a little more food at two meals a day.

Feeding her approximately the same amount in two daily meals instead of three , once the pup is 6 months old should not be any problem .
Unless the weight loss continues , stick with what you are doing .

if she is very active and it will also depend on size of the dog . small, medium or large I would continue to feed her the 31/2 cups of food a day until she is 2 years old if she isn't active I would only feed her 1/4 cup twice a day again depending on size of the dog.. blue buffalo ia a excellent food. I have a 1 1/2 year female Chihuahua and I feed her grain free blue buffalo and she is doing very well . she has a nice shinny soft coat .

You can either go back to 3 or increase slightly the two feedings (if she is still loosing weight, give her a bit more until she levels out), she is getting bigger and will need more calories to keep her at the correct weight.

I weaned my puppy off her middle meal about the same age. You can increase the other two meals a little if she isn't maintaining her weight. Or you can give a little snack. Either way is fine. There are no hard, fast rules. Just do what works best for your schedule.

You can try increasing her ration (she IS growing after all) but my guess is that she is simply entering her gawky teenage phase. She will probably shoot up tall and skinny like a 13-year-old boy and then when she is 12-24 months old will do her filling out of that frame.
