How do you find is someone has a will?
A family friend passed away. He has 2 living brothers that he is not close to at all. We THINK he has a will, and has named either myself or my sister(s) has executor. But, how do we find this out?
We are waiting for the medical examiner to notify us on the official cause of death, and he died at home, unattended.
We're just at a loss on what to do and where to start...or if we just wait to see if we're contacted by someone.
11 AnswersLaw & Ethics3 years agoFacebook issues on desktop?
I go to my page and the friend request, message, notification and help button/bubble are not visible. It shows I have notifications, but won't allow me to click on them. I can type a post, but can't post it.
If I click where they should be, a blank dropdown appears, but nothing happens.
I've used my laptop to log out and tried logging in again. I've restarted my computer multiple times. I've deleted cookies.
Any other ideas to try?
1 AnswerFacebook4 years agoBest low phosphorus dog food?
My oldest dog is almost 12. She was just diagnosed with early stages of kidney disease.
My vet recommended putting her on a low phosphorus/low protein diet and has ordered me a bag of Royal Canin rx food for kidney health.
I know RC overall isn't that great of a food, but have heard their rx food is pretty good.
Being my dog is in the early stages, the low protein isn't as important as the low phosphorus.
So, I'm looking for options that may be better than the RC.
I saw a Wysong Synorgon that looked pretty good.
Any other suggestions? Ideas?
Yes, I do plan on talking to my vet more this afternoon. They were swamped when I had my dog in there a couple days ago and I needed a couple days to do some research to come up with some questions and ideas to go over with her.
1 AnswerDogs4 years agoDouble back cinch?
A friend recently got a 1970s Longhorn saddle with two straps at the back cinch. She is selling the saddle and was asked how the 2 straps work. So, she asked me.
I've only see the 2 straps, where they came together and used the same buckle.
What is the purpose of the two separate straps?
3 AnswersHorses4 years agoHow to find a compete work history?
My husband was recently injured at work. L & I is requesting his ENTIRE work history, from the time he was 16. He is now 56 years old. We have records for the last 10 years or so, but nothing beyond that.
Can someone point me in the right direction to find this information? (I've only known him for 10 years, so I can't help beyond that)

We are switching from Dish TV to Direct TV. We have a LOT of programs stored on the Hopper.
Is there any way we can save them to a flash drive, computer, or external hard drive, etc., other than losing them?
3 AnswersTiVO & DVRs5 years agoSAFE alternative for Metacam or Rimadyl?
We have 2 senior dogs. Our 8 year old, Pit/Boxer/? mix has horrible knees along with arthritis in his back & hips.
We just adopted him a few months ago, after he spent a couple years bouncing around shelters. He has improved a LOT since we got him, but some evenings he had trouble getting comfortable.
He just had surgery to remove a couple benign tumors and is on Metacam, which is helping.
We started him on a joint supplement, which has helped TREMENDOUSLY.
He couldn't sit when we got him, now, he has no trouble sitting.
Our other senior is our almost 11 year old Pit Bull/mix?. She has been my agility dog for the past 6 years. The last few weeks, she's been waking up a bit stiff and limps a little, but works out of it fairly quickly. She has been on a joint supplement since she started agility.
She also gets Metacam, for now.
Both dogs are at a good weight and fit.
I'm hoping to find a more natural pain reliever with less side effects, if possible.
A friend also suggested Adequan injections, which I'm considering.
I have emailed my vet with my questions/thoughts and will talk with her more next week when I take our male in to get his staples out.
I'm just looking for other ideas/options/opinions on what has worked for other senior dogs.
8 AnswersDogs5 years agoPotty training puppy, what am I missing?
Our mixed breed puppy is 8 1/2 months old, we got her at 10 weeks old.
From when we got her the end of February, thru May, she went to work with me every day, stayed in a crate and was walked every 2 hours.
The weather warmed up, so I had to leave her home. Stays in a bedroom, with a doggie door to our fenced back yard.
She gets plenty of exercise, attends obedience & pre-agility classes. She's been to the vet and is cleared of any health issues. On non-class days, she gets walked and/or we do some other type of training, or head to the beach, etc. We also have 2 other dogs that she plays with.
All summer the back door was open and the front door was open MOST of the time, so she always has access to outside.
Even with the doors open, I'd make sure to go out with the dogs every couple hours and I'd wait for her to potty and praise her BIG time.
She STILL messes (poop & pee) on the floor.
I clean the floor with Natures Miracle and every other weekend, shampoo the carpets. She seems to know she has done wrong, when I'm cleaning the mess, she slinks out the doggie door. But she isn't making the connection that she shouldn't be going in the house.
What am I missing? Or is she just being a stubborn Terrier? (We *THINK* she could be Bull Terrier x Jack Russell Terrier, so double trouble terrier???)
Our last puppy (now 4 years old) was fully trained by 4 months of age.
3 AnswersDogs6 years agoHow to increase stamina in a dog?
I have an almost 4 year old mixed breed dog. She stands 25" tall and weighs a lean 68lbs. She sees the vet on a regular basics and is very healthy. She gets quality kibble, plenty of mental and physical training. We compete in agility, which she LOVES and is very good.
BUT, she has NO stamina. We've run bloodwork and everything looks good.
I used to show her in 3 classes, but have recently dropped her down to 2 classes. At our last 3 trails, she's ran clean in her jumpers class, but was over time by 2-3 seconds. She is super agile and can turn really light, she just gets tired and slows down.
Is there a supplement of some sort that would help increase her stamina?
My 6 month old puppy and 10 year old dog both have more stamina.
5 AnswersDogs6 years agoWhat breed(s) could make up this dog?
In the photos she is about 5 months old. 19lbs and 15-16" tall.
I know she's a mutt (AKC ALL American dog), just trying to figure out what could be in there because I'm always being asked what she is.
I've gone with Mini Dutch Shepherd (as a JOKE!) but they aren't popular enough and nobody knows what they are.
6 AnswersDogs6 years agoProtecting auto glass from hard water spots?
I just got a new car and our water is very hard. I washed and dried the car, but the next morning, it was covered in water spots. I got the spots off the body by waxing the car. I tried an auto glass cleaner and it helped getting the spots off, but some are still visible.
Is there something I can do to get the spots off?
And, is there something I can put on the glass to keep them from forming so bad?
(We are looking into a water softener, so that will help in the future)

2 AnswersOptical6 years agoMy dog needs anal sacs expressed frequently.?
She was at the vet earlier this week and had the expressed (3rd time since July)
The vet said they are at an odd angle, which is probably why they don't empty like they should.
She is on a high quality kibble, I'm looking into adding more fiber to her diet.
Is there anything else I can do?
Does anyone have experience with having them removed?
Yes, I will be talking to my vet soon, just wanting to hear other peoples experiences.

3 AnswersDogs7 years agoDo you need a permit to replace a deck on a house?
Several of our deck boards are rotting, so we're going to replace the whole thing. We're thinking about making the deck a little larger.
When we build a small platform for our garage cans our neighbor asked if we had a permit.
So we're wondering if we'll need a permit for enlarging the deck? It won't be huge, just a portion of it will be about 4' wider.
We're in nw WA if that makes a difference.
5 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs7 years agoApproximate cost of dental cleaning for dogs?
My 7 year old American Bulldog is getting some tartar buildup and will be going in soon for a dental cleaning.
Just looking for a ballpark figure so when my husband asks how much it's going to cost, I can give him a rough estimate.
I know it's going to vary depending on area, vet, etc. so just looking for approximate cost.
6 AnswersDogs7 years agoLooking for good commuter car to buy?
I'm looking to buy a new commuter car.
Things I want are;
Bluetooth/hands free
Cruise Control
A/C
Power Windows
30+mpg
Prefer automatic, but will consider manual for the right car.
I'm thinking hatchback, would like to stay under, or not much over $20k
I typically drive a car 10-15 years, so it's got to last.
Any recommendations?
What to look at, what to stay away from.
I'm in no hurry. Just starting to research. I'll probably make a list of cars I like, then hit a car show later this year and sit in them, adjust the list from there, make a short list, then start test driving.
Thanks!
4 AnswersBuying & Selling7 years agoHow to convert BUP and VOB files?
I have a Sony Handycam DCD camcorder.
When I try to view the videos, they show up as BUP, IFO or VOB files. I can sometimes see the IFO files, but not the others.
I usually use media player to view videos.
Is there a way to convert them so I can view them, and upload them to youtube?
Thanks!
1 AnswerTiVO & DVRs7 years agoThinking about getting my dog into the TDI program?
My mother is 86 and thinking about entering an assisted living facility. In the past I have thought about getting my dog certified as a therapy dog. Now, I'm thinking more seriously about it.
She is a 9 year old Pit Bull, in excellent healthy, has earned her CGC (3 times, 1st, I thought the evaluator was to easy, 2nd after AKC starting adding it as a title, and 3rd as a donation for Pit Bulls who earn it) She has multiple agility titles and her RN (rally novice) and the only thing that bothers her is another dog yelping (barking doesn't bother her)
She is fine with noises, loves people, (usually) walks great on a leash, has an excellent recalls, she is used to walkers, wheelchairs don't bother her.
Looking over the list of tests, the biggest issue for her will be the 'leave it' with food on the floor. But if I work on that, she shouldn't have any problems with that.
There are no tests in my area until April, at the earliest, so I've got time to get everything in order.
So, any tips, suggestions?
