Is the Disney Visa Meet and Greet Worth it?

I don't have a Disney Visa and do not plan on getting one. However, I have a close friend asking me if its worth it. I know if you have a Disney Visa you get a free 5 x 7 with some special character meet n greet. Anyone here ever go to it? Do you get a photo with just one character or a bunch together? Is it really worth it

    I definitely think so!

The exclusive Character Meet is just one of many benefits a Disney Visa cardholder will have. I've been a cardholder for about 7 or 8 years now. I'm a Florida resident and visit often, but my daughter is now a teenager; sadly, we don't do the character meet and greets very often anymore. While I would not apply for the card solely because of this opportunity, it is (usually) much less of a wait to meet the characters, and they do spend a bit more time with you. The complimentary 5x7 is just a bonus.

If your close friend is planning to visit Disney sometime in the near future, then I'd definitely recommend applying for the Disney Rewards Visa Card- but not because of the character greeting. In the past, they have offered $50 or $100 credit when signing up (they usually have brochures in the resort rooms when you stay on property). They offer 0% financing for Disney vacation packages, and sometimes cardholders even have the first chance to book promotions, like the really popular free dining offer that came out last week. My sister-in-law (not a cardholder) mentioned that she called on the first day it came out and waited a few hours on the phone only to find that her first 2 room choices were booked up. She was upset when I told her that if she had a Disney Visa, she could have called 3 days earlier.

My favorite thing about being a cardholder is the rewards points! I use the card to buy groceries and gas and pay it off at the end of the month to avoid interest charges. But I get rewards dollars that I can use for almost every shop, restaurant, or hotel (must be Disney owned) when I visit. Plus, showing your Disney Visa Card will get you merchandise discounts and discounts on behind the scenes tours and other fun things to do. Plus I liked being able to pick out my favorite Disney Character for my card!

Check out this site that will have with a list of the rewards. You can access this site even without being a member.

    I hope this helps!

I haven't been there personally but as I understand it (being a major Dis fan and living right near it I get annual passes and go a lot, so I talk to people).

    - you don't know which characters or what combo will be there. But these are generally characters you can meet elsewhere in the park (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, etc)

    - lines are short; but you can take as long as you want and they take a lot of pics, so lines can move slowly to. So it depends on the day.

    - you get the 1 free 5x7 out of all the pics they take-- that's kind of the gimmick, I guess; they take lots of poses probably in hopes of you being willing to buy additional photos.

Basically, I would not get a Disney Visa for this; if I had one I'd consider it a perk.

i've done it pretty much every time since 2006.

    i find it worth it.

you don't get any more time with the characters than you normally would at any other character meet n greet but its def still worth it.

its typically mickey and minnie or mickey and pluto or minnie and pluto.

they take multiple pics like they normally do.

you could ask for a group shot and then one with all the kids and then one with all the adults...they are very accommodating like always.

you can have up to 6 people go in with 1 disney visa card.

if more people in the group have disney visa cards then more people can come in at the same time.

one thing i like is that while you don't really get much longer than normal it does feel like it cuz you are not rushed and you don't feel pressured to be quick cuz you are the only ones in the room.
