Why would God use a term such as Father and Son to describe different manifestations of himself?

If he was one and the same, co equal co eternal? I mean God introduced language yes? and ever since language was introduced a father has always had superiority over a son,not because the son lowered himself but because the father caused his existence, furthermore a father will always be older than his son and a son will always owe his life to his father. If the trinity was a true teaching surely God in his superior wisdom would not have used such a term to describe different manifestations of himself if he wanted us to accept or understand the trinity doctrine.

Update:

Skoota you might wanna check out my profile(brother) :)

Update 2:

BR So your saying that Jesus in his pre human form was not in a subordinate position? That he was co-equal?

Update 3:

Bamboo Tiger Nice reply, loved your use of the scriptures to support your statement. However you too may wanna check out my profile :)

Update 4:

Edward We as Jehovah's witnesses have no problem with Jesus being referred to "a god" on that point we are actually in agreeance, however if a human father procreates a child that child is not the human father but the human son and as I eluded to earlier automatically places him in a subordinate position.

Update 5:

And if a God creates a being then by that fact alone that being is subordinate due to the fact that Its life was created and as the scriptures clearly point out Jesus is the first born of all creation (Colossians1-15) and again Jesus himself states at (Proverbs 8-22) “Jehovah himself produced me as the beginning of his way, the earliest of his achievements of long ago , Bamboo tiger covered this point.

Update 6:

I believe there are many gods, even the bible attests to this at (1 Corinthians 8 vs's 5 & 6), however I worship only the creator Jehovah, but in harmony with the scriptures I direct my worship through my Lord and redeemer Jesus Christ.

Jesus, the son of God, said that he was created by God:

(Revelation 3:14) 14 “And to the angel of the congregation in La·o·di·ce′a write: These are the things that the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God,

He did not say "the beginning of the creation by the Father." If he was created by God then that means that he is not God. God is his father because he gave life to Jesus by creating him. As the first thing created by God Jesus is the firstborn.

(Proverbs 8:22) “Jehovah himself produced me as the beginning of his way, the earliest of his achievements of long ago.

    (Colossians 1:15) He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation;

An image is not the same thing as what it is an image of. I have many images of my wife, and she looks very small in them too, by the way, but if I burn a picture am I killing my wife? Trinitarians are taught not to think.

Trinities were worshiped long before Christ came to earth, and it was hundreds of years after the death of Christ before anyone called himself a christian and claimed that God is a Trinity. It is a doctrine not taught in the Bible, but which is inspired by demons.

    1) Why would God use a term such as Father and Son to describe different manifestations of himself?

If he was one and the same, co equal co eternal?

Because it is an accurate description. The human form of Jesus is the biological son of the Father - literally his son.

    2) If the trinity was a true teaching surely God in his superior wisdom would not have used such a term to describe different manifestations of himself if he wanted us to accept or understand the trinity doctrine.

Really? Why? Do you have a reason for saying, "surely"? Or is that merely an illogical opinion?

You are attempting to confine God's nature by applying the typical (not universal - just typical) human father-son relationship to him.

The Father is *literally* the father of Jesus' human form. Jesus was *literally* the son of God.

All of those other characteristics that you want to attribute to that relationship are attributes of humanity - not attributes of God.

A Muslim asked this question once…. logical assertion that if God can become a man according to Christians understanding then continuing in the same logical reasoning he can become any of his creation why only man? .Becoming creation other than man is easier as man is structurally and functionally more complex than others as you yourself said.

The christian line of reasoning is that since God can do every THING , then he can become a man

Lets see how much this reasoning of the Christians is logical or scientifically correct.

According to OXFORD dictionary a THING is any OBJECT .

Suppose if God becomes man he is…..

….all knowing and not all knowing at same time

….self subsisting and not self subsisting at the same time

….eternally living and not eternally living at the same time

….all seeing and not all seeing at the same time

….all hearing and not all hearing at the same time

….all powerful and not all powerful at the same time , etc,etc

So as you see all these are self contradictory or inherently contradictory things.Self contradictory things does not exist or they are not THINGS .

IT IS A SCIENTIFIC ABSURDITY AND THERE IS NO OBJECT IN THE WHOLE UNIVERSE THAT IS INHERENTLY CONTRADICTORY

    Example….

    ….100% positive 100% negative

    ….100% hot 100% cold

    ….100% tall 100% short

    ….100% fat 100% thin

    ….100% north 100% south

    ….100% male 100% female

    ….100% black 100% white

    ….100% present 100% not present , etc,etc

So basically these inherently contradictory things are not THINGS they do not exist they are only hypothetical

In the same line when one say God can do every thing it does not mean that he can do inherently contradictory things as they are NOT THINGS they are hypothetical

Let us see the light of the bible, what does it say whether God can become a man and come to earth.

If you take the whole Old Testament this concept of God being

unlimited and the one who can’t come on earth will be seen. For example

    1 kings 28:6

In this verse Solomon says “but will God indeed dwell on

earth .behold heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain thee”

    2 chronicle 2:6

In this verse Solomon says “but who is able to build him a

house since heaven and even the highest heaven cannot contain him”

You can see by this verse that Solomon who according to the bible is man with most wisdom that God cannot dwell on earth and cannot be contained.

    EDIT

AS a Jehovah wittiness I understand that you don’t believe Jesus is GOD but the son of GOD now if a human begets a human, if a dog begets a dog, if a cat begets a cat and if a monkey begets a monkey with this logic don’t chu think that GOD also begets a GOD and this automatically makes Jesus a GOD?

    EDIT

So are you saying that you believe in two Gods?or not equal gods but subordinate to each other?or they are like triplets or twines?

You are Not understanding the Bible. In Gen. it tells us that Jesus got to be the Christ because he was the only angel that had Never sinned!

I have gone through my New Testament and counted over 550 places that state that Jesus is Not God! Like where Jesus said: Why do you call me "good"? I am Not good. Only God is good.". "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was WITH him." "...You have never heard his voice nor seen his form,...". "For the very work that the Father has given me to finish, and which i am doing, testifies that the Father has sent me."

It is best to obey the Bible, not lazy people personal wants and desires.

    He wouldn't.

Jehovah is NOT a God of confusion, but a God of order.

1Cor14:33...For God is a God not of disorder, but of peace.

Psalms 19:8....The orders from Jehovah are upright, causing the heart to rejoice. The commandment of Jehovah is clean, making the eyes shine.

All the confusion and the lies of the trinity come from Satan, the god of this system of things, who skillfully blinds the eyes AND the minds of disobedient mankind, so that's the good news cannot touch their hearts.

2Cor4:3-4..."If now the good news that we declare is now veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing. [4] among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ who is the image of God, might not shine through."

This scripture did not say that Jesus Christ WAS or IS God....it stated plainly that he was the IMAGE [ likeness] of GOD; his Father, JEHOVAH.

Just as children can be said to be the likeness of one of their parents, it doesn't make them that PERSON!

They possess qualities like that parent.

  • God would not ,God is not a liar.

Nor would his son Jesus .

False religion twists the bible but the truth is clear , trinity is a false doctrine.

why do you call yourself a son of your parents and a father of your children ?

same thing w the trinity .

the trinity is a fact ... IF ... you know your bible.

water in its liquid state is called ... liquid

water in solid state is called ... ice

now, ' surely God in His superior wisdom would not have used such a term ' ...

God uses no such terms. The terminology is a human invention and does not reflect reality.

They are not different "manifestations" of himself. God is not an individual, "God" is the name of a closed group consisting of three individuals.
