What vacume system is this in my house?

Ever sinve I moved in 2 years ago I always said I wanted to figure how this vacume system works..let me explain what I have...basicly its a hole downstaris and a hole in the wall upstaires as well..nowere do I see where you can hook up a central vac unit,my guess is you hook up a vacume to one hole and it sucks from the other this way you dont have to drag the vacume uostairs..kind of dumb but that what I can think of..

it sure sounds like a central vacuum system. Do you have the attachments to go into the hole in the wall? Is there a basement in the house? Is there a garage attached to the houise?

Central vac systems have a canister in some part of the house like the basement or the garage. That's what receives the dirt and dust you vacuum in the house. It isn't a dumb idea - it saves a lot of energy and is usually more effiicient.
