Do we See ourselves as Others See us?
Don't you think that most people are rather egotistical? They see all the good in themselves and all the bad in others...well, I know not all but I am speaking from the "Gut" and hurt feelings, so bear with me.
I see a lot of self-centered actions and now more than ever before. That could be family or friends, and of course, those are the ones that truly hurt you because you expect them to be there for YOU.
Then you see how ugly their nature is, and it is just like a Slap in the Face...
yr turn.... :)
TU everyone.

In the last days we will see people without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good. Self-centered people including family members, that's the trend today. Therefore I personally don't count on anyone to finish my journey. I have the Almighty by my side what else can I ask for. I know I won't never be disappointed for relying on Him.

if self-centeredness is on the increase (yes, it really seems like it is!!) then its because people have replaced materialism for spirituality.
Money filling the 5 senses with pleasures of all kinds, it has little to do with the level of spirituality of the peoples and cultures it took to build a world where so many people can be so well off, all the time.
We could actually solve all the world's problems, but many just don't care and just want to fill up on pleasures for themselves and those near them feel the same way. Some have a little care for the needy or the lost or the newbie, but for the most part, its not even just "all for me" this days, its selfish and its aggressive and it's very much about tingling all over with pleasures. Pros and cons.
Sure, rich people can do good deeds. But its a kind of culture that we are only starting to build up & popularize now that things that we depend on like the ecosystem are too vulnerable and being damaged by earlier no-longer-useful desires of selfishness. The self remains, but the selfishness needs to be altered to fit the new needs. So far as we know, no one, even the richest can fully escape these facts, such as about the need for the way we care for nature, or keep our own societies full of free & prosperous peoples.
I myself am on a personal life long search for the facts about my own life and all things necessary to gain such facts. It is going to be interesting to see who and what changes to accomodate such needs and such learnings. And learning of this kind, actually it is the greater pleasures of life (intellectual & or spiritual)

I think we see ourselves a lot different than others see us.One time when I was in the ninth grade we had demonstration in class in which someone in the class stood up in front of the class and did an impersonation of one of the other class members and the rest of us had to guess who it was that was being mimicked.A girl got up and did an impression of me. I couldn't guess who she was doing until everyone turned their heads to look at me. Every thing she was doing were my mannerisms, but they made me look like a buffoon when she did them, especially in pronouncing foreign words like sombrero. I tried to roll my rs which never worked and made me look ridiculous. I was really embarrassed and slid down in my seat in shame. I thought "So this is how they see me?"
I thought I was cool.

Sometimes there is a mutual identification of yourself with what people think of you. I oft ask people I've known to describe me.
Some people will never have a definition of who you are, always remaining unknown to you. People can have different perspectives or definitions for what they think you are, compared to what the individual thinks themselves to be.
There is a lot one person can keep hidden about themselves, that make them who they are, without having other people have any direct experience of your unique personal history, personal image/id/characteristics, and your unique personal intentions.
I don't know what it is like to be seen as "bad" while others spare all good in the light of themselves, but I can think of such phenomena. Maybe you should talk to such people, to try to convert them to an optimistic outlook for yourself. If that doesn't work, who knows, be effected, or just avoid it?

I don't really think so. You may "see a lot f self-centered actions" but then again, you don't really know what's actually going on in peoples lives. I think everybody judges everyone better then we do individually because it's only us that know what's going on in our lives

You must follow politics. It's all about self-importance. When leaders act in their own interest and against their constituents, it bleeds a little democracy from us. They serve US....not the other way around. If we decided to legalize pot and running around naked, then they have to give it to us. That's democracy.
But on a personal level, yeah...we're not perfect. But the first step is taking responsibility for what WE have done. Plus, we should work on having a better outlook on life. Hopefully, we can see ourselves for what we CAN be, not what we want to be. A little empathy can go a long way.

I don't think so. I see myself as plain and ordinary, but when I see friends, I am bombarded with love as if I were somebody special.

Yes. It depends. If both of them follow the same system, methodology and technique, the net result will be same.
