What are Some Painless Ways to Become Blind?
What are some painless ways one could blind themselves purposely?
Now, before you say anything, let me explain. I do not have any intentions to blind myself, nor am I getting this information for anybody else who does. I actually enjoy the ability to see things. This is for a story I am writing, where one of the characters purposely blinds themselves. Just a story!
Anyways, I do wish for it to be a painless (or at least little pain) method. Please, don't make anything up. I'd appreciate a realistic idea, that could work at least to some extent. Finally, I wish for it to be a permanent method, not just temporary.

Err...sorry Jim? Some people here actually are/were doctors, and would have no problem answering. Besides, I was just looking for a few simple answers. Nothing too complicated. Like, staring at the sun, for example (which is really the only example I can think of at the moment).

Painless ways to become bilnd? well shining a bright light on your eyes? I'm not sure if it's painless or not Staring at the sun would probably work too, Uh and apparantly sticking a burning needle into your eye, i heard it's pretty painless. but if you keep it in too long apparently your eye will either swell extremely or explode. Well there you go. i hope i help :P
