Why do ex-atheists make the best creationists?

Some of the best-known creationists grew up as atheists, and continued in college.

Update:

A quick internet search turned up 4. A number of my acquaintances have confessed their former atheism, but perhaps save public pronouncements for presentations and debates.

    It is far easier to find a Theist that claims to have been an Atheist than to find an Atheist that has become a Theist.

    It takes a lot more than not going to church to be an Atheist in the same way that it takes more than walking into a church to be a Theist

    Probably because they learned that it's a lot easier to be paid to swindle people than to do real science.
