Everything downloadable is "infetced"?

On my chromebook, whenever I try to download something it says it is infected and can be harmful to the computer, and the stuff I do download it says it's not supported by google chrome. Is there an antivirus for chromebook that is free and effective, also can I go on firefox or explorer on chromebook? I know the second question is dumb just answer the first question if you like.

You shouldn't be trying to play games, etc on a chromebook. A chromebook is specifically cloud based and for Google Docs and web browsing.

It seems like your PC has got virus corruption. You need to perform a complete system scan. Install an antivirus like Immunet Plus, Norton, Kaspersky, Avast, AVG and turn on firewall protection feature of the tool. This will protect chromebook from getting corrupted or infected by virus. Perform a complete scan of your system and virus will be removed, making it easy for you to download your files.
