Why do atheists try to put Jesus into the scientific method after he said "Do not put God to a test"?

So... you are asking us to not question God, because God said we shouldn't test him?

The scientists will never find God through their telescopes. Science requires experiments to be repeated to get the results, however as the same events in the world can never exactly be repeated we can only get an approximation. so much for an "exact science" is it any wonder that these hypotheses are changing all the time? As it is an approximation it will only resemble the thing outwardly but not its true essential nature, this is the weakness of modern science. The ideal of True knowledge can only come from identifying the object with the subject, by being at one with it we can gain insight into its inner workings. Thus applying this to the Bible we can get true knowledge of God only by striving to be one with him.

I think the point is that if you cannot provide evidence to support that a god or gods exist then there is no reason to believe a god or gods exist. If you want to believe then go for it. However, you should never expect others to believe. You should never want religion uses as a basis for law. You should never want religion to be a part of government. You should never support anyone trying to push their religion on others.

So... what about all the other religions that have similar clauses? Why aren't we following those again?
