Usually while the effects of the Adderall can be felt, you can pretty much go without food. Believe it or not, adderall was actually sold as a weight loss drug first! If you take 3 10mg dosages over the course of a day, expect to get very thin.
If you get used to it though, you should have no problem eating even when the pill is currently active in your system.

XR means "extended release." The drug is released from the tablet slowly, extending the effect. Adderal XR is intended to be taken once a day, so you may experience the effects for an entire 24 hours.
