Jehovah and Jesus are two separate people?

Someone asked this question. But it got deleted. I really want to know your thoughts in it though. I copied and pasted the answer someone else had and my answer to his answer. Does anyone else have anything on this?

"1 Timothy 3:16 - God was manifest in the flesh.

Colossians 2:9 - For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.

Also Colossians 1:15-17 , Matthew 1:23, Isaiah 9:6, Titus 2:13,, John 20:28-29, Philippians 2:5-8"

1 Timothy 3:16 does not say that Jesus is the Almighty God. It says that Jehovah was manifest in the flesh. Which He was. But that does not say that Jesus is the Almighty. For Jesus is the image of the invisible God. The firstborn of all creation (Colossians 1:15). Colossians 2:9 does not say Jesus is the God. However Jesus is a God just like Moses was a God (Exodus 7:1; Isaiah 9:6). There is no authority except from Jehovah God (Romans 13:1). And Matthew 1:23 does not say Jesus is the Almighty God either. It says "with us is God". Part of proof that Jehovah is with us was His sending His Son. Jehovah and Jesus have always been separate (Psalms 110:1 and Matthew 22:43-45). See also Proverbs 8:22.

You can find some information here: Is Jehovah in the “Old Testament” Jesus Christ in the “New Testament”? http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1101989238#h=42...

John 8:54 states that Jesus does not glorify himself. The one that glorifies him is his father, the one the Jews call their God.

The God of the Jews is Jehovah. They called him Father (Deuteronomy 32:6; Isaiah 64:8).

Interesting what the God of the Jews stated. At Deuteronomy 6:4, God says he is one Jehovah (not several who are Jehovah). At Isaiah 45:6, Jehovah says their is none besides him and their is no one else.

Jesus says the Father as the only true God (John 17:1, 3)

Obviously, Jesus is not Jehovah (or he would be glorifying himself).

Their is no statement in the scriptures that states God is 3 in 1. This is a man made doctrine.

Jehovah is God (the father). Jesus is his only begotten son, the only one directly created by God. All other creation is THROUGH Jesus by God (1 Corinthians 6:8; John 1:3).

Wow!! Talk about a loaded, complicated question. This is one of my favorite topics, so I sometimes get analytical with it.

When you understand the word you will learn that there is no word in English or in Hebrew that is Jehovah. The same applies to Yahweh.

YHWH is known as The Tetragrammaton. Some translator wrote it as Jehovah, which is an insult to the name of God in the eyes of the Jews. YHWH has more than 1,000 transliteration just in the Hebrew translation into English, but there are a few that would actually blaspheme the Name of God, which is why the Jews won't use it.

To your paragraph and verses. You're right. Nothing in the Bible states, in specific words, that "Jesus is God." It doesn't spell it out for you. God gives us credit to learn and use our intelligence.

    Consider this.

The Pharisees sought to kill Jesus on many occasions. Why? Because He said He is God.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life." The "I Am" here is the same "I Am" that the Father used to Moses. (And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.' Exod 3:14)

Read the creation process of Genesis 1. Then read John 1:1-5. Then Colossians 1:16.

The term God in Genesis is Eloihim. It is the first mention of God, and the first plural use of the Godhead. It is also a phrase that defines a person within the Godhead as "He for us who was pierced."

Moses was not God, the word and definition are wrong. In the definition used in the Old Testament Hebrew Moses was a god, where god is defined as a human such as a judge, leader of a people, lord of a community or village.

Don't look to Matthew. It's John that portrays Jesus as God.

There is no word Jehovah or Yahweh in Hebrew or in English.

I'm sorry that you've been so misled in your beliefs. Until you expand your mind and learn inductive Bible study, you will not learn that which you are trying to explain.

Source(s): Tetragrammaton = Middle English, from Late Latin, from Greek, from neuter of tetragrammatos having four letters, from tetra- + grammat-, gramma letter. - Merriam Webster

You worry too much in regards to the thumbs up. That doesn’t prove anything. Bear in mind the load of their answers and make a decision for your self. A wise character would not simply rely on the alternative of the majority. Any person (Non JW) in order to read will have to evaluate the solutions and no longer rely on thumbs up or down. It’s now not a significant deal =) To answer you Q, Isn’t Jesus stated that what he taught got here from his Father? (John 5:19, 30, forty three; 6:38; 10:25) We follow Jehovah’s laws and the instance set by Jesus. (1 Peter 2:21-23) although we're referred to as Jehovah’s Witness, it doesn’t necessarily imply that we do not follow Jesus. He is our Exemplar! Consider when used to nominate kings for his nation Israel? Jehovah would consistently say to imitate kind David. He used to be the benchmark of righteous king back then. Does following David’s means method now not following David most effective now not Jehovah? (1 King 9:3-6) =)

You forgot John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word(Jesus), and The Word was with God, and The Word was God. JW(?): You cannot have The Father without Jesus or Jesus without the Father. They are, along with The Holy Spirit, GOD. Oh by the way; the word Jehovah has never been found in any of recently found manuscripts, included in The New Testament. It is just another attempt to disprove the deity of Jesus.

The message of Jesus is that each of us is one with God. Each of us can be said to be the "manifest flesh" of God. So, in that sense, Jehovah & Jesus are one & the same, although "people" & "person" aren't quite the words that I would choose to give to God, who is more the spirit of the universe. Also, as a non-Christian, "Jehovah" is not the name I would choose because he's portrayed as such a sadistic God in the Bible, always eager to hand out some ridiculous & evil sounding punishment. He's supposed to be a God of love, but he sure doesn't show it. We have to wonder which is worse in the Bible, Satan or Jehovah. To me, the Bible makes them sound equally evil. If you don't believe me, just read Revelations & listen to the fundamentalists talk about the grand show-down at the end of time. What's so nice & loving about that?

Zechariah 12:10 has "Jehovah" speaking prophetically that he would personally be pierced by the Jews.

The Jehovah Witness bible alters this passage.

well, they are both characters in the same mythology, but pretty sure the writer intended them to be viewed as separate. Which writer you ask? Oh right, lot's of different people wrote the New Testament.
