I want to join the Marines, but i have a question?
Im a smart kid, 3.5 gpa in all honors classes, on my state all star team in high school hockey and lacrosse and in shape. I want to join the Marine Corps infantry when i graduate. Ive already decided im fine with giving up the opportunity to play college sports but theres one thing that worries me. With how hard it is to get a job these days, will it be very hard for me to find a good paying job right out of the Corps without a college degree? Should i use the GI bill if i want any chance of finding a job that pays well? Im looking at a police officer. Whats the best route to take to become a police officer right out of the Corps? If i can avoid going back to college that would be great but if thats what i have to do then fine. Just need some advice on how to get a job as a police officer after the USMC. Thanks

Best thing would be to join as an MP or something, so when you get out you can have some law enforcement expierence, wont be much or realisitc but civilian cops dont know that. Take online classes whil your in and use your GI and post 9/11 bill when your out of the corps. Most police units dont require college, and having previous military expierence great help

Go to college and do NROTC Marine Option. Find a college that has that. You'll be a cadet and commission as a Marine Corps officer when you graduate. You might be able to play college sports too if you have time. You'll also have your college degree. Your college may also be entirely paid for or significantly paid for if you get an NROTC scholarship. With military experience as an officer and a college degree under your belt after you get out of the corps you should be able to find a good job. This sounds like what you' could be looking for.
As for enlisting, it's a good option too. Just take advantage of the GI bill and go to college once you're out.
